What is an ACEO?
What is an ACEO? This question comes up a lot. Basically, the term simply reffers to size. That is the only real requirement. All ACEO's are 2.5 by 3.5 inches. The size of a standard playing card. WOW! Thats small. Sure is :) Which is why I personally LOVE collecting them! ACEO stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. They are affordable and can be collected and traded! ACEO's are also a really great way to get AFFORDABLE art! Sometimes it is just not in the budget to own a large piece by your favorite artist. Thats why ACEO's are great. Some sell for a few dollars and some sell for hundreds. As they gain in popularity, I have been noticing a lot more artists offering them. Personally, I store all of mine in a 3 ring binder. I bought some baseball card holder plastic pages that hold the ACEO's perfectly. It is filled with a wide variety of art that takes up little space! Some people collect ACEO's by theme or medium or artist. I collect Elvis Aceo's and pretty much anything that catches my attention. 2 GREAT places to buy ACEO's are EBAY and ETSY. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first but browse. I am sure you will see one that catches your eye :) |
