Sterilization
I am a 28 year old mother of one. I love my daughter dearly but in my heart, I have always known I only wanted one child. I want to give everything I have to her. Why is this so hard for insurance companies to understand? I have dealt with 2 incurance companies on this issue. I began my pursuit a few months after my daughter was born when I was 26. I keep hearing "You are so young" or "You may change your mind. " What about my body rights? Currently I am dating and I am on the pill. I do not want to be on the pill. The other options given were an IUD and some shots. First off, all of these things cost MONEY. Having my tubes tied will cost money initially but then nothing ever again. All of these methods of birth control have side effects. I do not want a blood clot or heart troubles because I am trying not to conceive. Just tie my tubes and there will be no worries. Financially speaking, another child is not in the cards. Children are expensive. So what if an accident happens and I do get pregnant? My current insurance requires you to go through some classes and then they send your case for reveiw. I have been told by 2 different doctors in 2 different cities that I will most likely be denied based on my age alone. 28 yesr old women cannot make up their minds? Or do the drug companies dictate who can have the surgery?
