My Dog Adotion Story
We adopted Mimi (chi-weenier dog) from the shelter. We think her owner mus have passed away - she was covered in white house paint. They told us a man dropped her off and said Mimi was his moms. We tried to adopt a companion for her about a year later from the same shelter. The first one was a poddle. She was on her last day before they had to put her down so I just had to bring her home. She was on the smaller side and had been a "breeder". She seemed to get along with us and Mimi just fine at first. Then we got home and she went seriously nuts. I tired to chalk it up to her being scared but when she bit me really bad, we just could not risk having her. We took her back and her time was reset (she had another week). A poodle rescue group adopted her so even if she did not work for us, our adoption bought her some time. a few months after that, i found a chi-mut mix named elvis. we had him meet mimi several times over the course of 2 days. he got along well with us and mimi but he was found wandering in the streets and had not been fixed. the shelter had to keep him for a few days to take care of that. we picked him up and at first he was just playfully humping mimi. after about 8 hours he was getting mean. we called the shelter who transfered us to the vet that fixed him. she said that he should not be doing that- lets just say, it got really really bad. mimi was so terrified, she would not even come out of the room. she even pooped on herself which was something that never happened. when he bit her and started attacking her like she was food while trying to have sex with her, we called the vet back and she said to bring him back. i was so upset but mimi came first. i do not know what became of him but since he drew blood on mimi he was sectioned off :( after that, i was a bit scarred but i knew i wanted another dog. i kept seeing this greay and white chi-mut mix but he was marked as sold. then one day i went and he was available so we started the steps to adopt him. he was found on the streets and had been fixed very early on (the vet said it was so early it kina made him "different" because he has almost no weiner and no testicles). he had been returned by 3 families for snapping at kids or people. they were going to put him to sleep so we chanced it. we have had him every since :)
