Grocery Store Fruit VS Farm Fruit
I grew up eating fruit from the grocery store. I never really got into it. I hated the bruises and sometimes the taste was sour or spoiled. Then about 2 years ago, I began driving out the the farm to get fresh fruit and veggies too! OH MY! what a difference. the fruit was full of flavor and the color was brighter. There were less flaws like bruises and nicks. The fruit even seemed more plump and juicy! Then I moved and it was back to the grocery store fruit. I just could not get into it. A few weeks ago, I discovered a much smaller farm that what I used to go to. It is just down the street and does not grow the stuff on site like the other farm did but they have lots of farm fresh stuff. Not only is there fruit much better than the grocery stores but it is cheaper too! If you have a choice about where you buy the fruit, go with the farm. It may be a little further of a drive but I bet you waste less fruit and your family will want to eat healthier! |
